We're not pissed because girls think they're hot, we're just annoyed by their needs of posting it all the time.
I'm sure there are quite a few fans on LHF that also think that the guys are good looking, handsome, hot, or whatever you want to call it, but there's no need to mention it all the time or make posts about it.

But what I DIDN'T enjoy were the pages of insults to their new image and album artwork.

Thatw as not insulting, we just stated OUR opinion, and no one has to agree with us, not even the band, but we have our own taste and everyone is free to speak their minds and I prefer that instead of kissing Lifehouse ass (sorry) and praise everything they do, every picture, artwork or whatever.
And I doubt that LH want to hear only the positive site.
And yes we know it's made by Tina and Kunio Hagio, so it is special to the guys (Tina is Rick's wife sister).

And I'm only saying it because I've seen it happen with another artist that took their boards down because people were being too harsh and critical, when they're supposed to be fans!!

The board is not down b/c we were to critical, it's down b/c of the bandwith and because of the high cost - it's paid by a fan and not a record company who can afford that.

You all want Lifehouse to stay a small band so you can have them all to yourselves. That's a shame.[/qoute]What we would like to have and what will happen or what we wish for the guys is not the same, cuz we wish them all the success that they deserve, even if this means they're becoming big.
Even if this is not what we would like for us - and yeah call me egoistic, whatever - but I still wish Lifehouse the success that they want and deserve.

And don't take the karma comemnt tpo personal, we don't take it serious anyway and smite and exalt eachother just as we feel at the time, see it just as a way of teasing.

I don't even know why I'm still here! I have to defend myself just because I wished everyone would make the other boards a more fun and happier place!

It's like my mom telling me who I should date, just because she thinks we would macth good.
It's still my/our decison where we post at, and I feel better over here, here is my LH family. Everyone is free to join us and become a part of the family.

I have been reading this post with interest since it began and I am finally throwing my 2 cents in....but first I need to make sure I have a few things straight.

"peaceout" comes here and in the first post:

a. insinuates that the members here believe they are too good for everyone else so they have "their" community on this website (implies that not everyone is welcome..whether that was what she meant or not, that is still what was implied)
b. insinuates that the members here are not true fans
c. accuses the members here of being a possessive cult, which, as Koen mentioned previously, carries negative connotations


...and then gets upset when the members here get defensive???

Do I have that right?? I know she said she is done with this board for good now, but I really can't believe the things I have read in this thread.

I am an active member of MANY fan message boards and every single one of them is just as close-knit as the members here are. Sure, they are all "secondary" message boards, as in, they are not on the artists main website (except the Miranda Lambert forum I frequent), but some of us actively seek out smaller forums because the main forums have too many threads to keep up with. I personally live a very busy life and do not have time to weed through 100 messages per day. I am not saying that any of these posts are any less important, but I like to completely keep up with a message board when I am in the mood to post/read and as a matter of personal preference, I simply prefer a message board that is not as fast paced. So I like the smaller fan communities and I am very happy that they are available.

Just because we are a smaller, close-knit community does NOT mean that:

a. we do not welcome new members. That's complete BS. All Lifehouse fans are welcome here. I have barely been over at LHfans and here for the past year or so due to various reasons, but all fans have always been welcome with open arms that I know of.
b. we are a possessive cult. Most of us simply and generally prefer smaller forums.
c. we think less of anyone for various reasons that have been insinuated off and on throughout this thread (that someone is a IHer, that someone has never met the band, etc.).

Everyone in this particular Lifehouse fan community that I have ever met personally, spoken to or messaged with is friendly and respectful when treated that way themselves. However, when someone comes in on the first post and makes accusations and insinuations of things that are not true, people are going to get defensive. peaceout, I know you said you left, but if you're still around, wouldn't you get defensive if someone made accusations and insinuations about you that weren't true?

and I'd also like to point out that we all started off on the LHmusic boards many years ago and totally got burned... it shut down and we got left in the cold with nowhere to go - boards like this are around so that doesn't happen again.

i think the only one who is being "stubborn" is you. We keep telling you the reasons why things were stated and our feelings on matters, and you just keep going on and on about what terrible fans we are instead of reading and thinking about what we have to say. Wouldn't you be defensive if someone's first post on a board was, and i'm paraphrasing, "you all are terrible LH fans and i'm glad your home is destroyed." koen even went all over you post and just explained things over and over again. and lisa was extremely civil so i have no clue what that's about.

I know we're all kind of involved in this thread right now, but I think it would be good to let things go. 'peaceout' has let me know that she's not gonna be coming back on here, and that's okay. If she doesn't feel at home here, then maybe it's for the best. I sent her back an e-mail by explaining things the way I see them again, and maybe we should just keep it at that. I think you are all fine people and I am proud to be in the same fan community you are, so lets just all have fun together and if new people want to join in, I wish them the warmest welcome we can give them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but no one has any problem with comments about how 'hot' any of the guys are, the 'problem' is with entire threads dedicated to such topic. There's just no need to have a thread going on and on about how cute someone is....it makes me feel like I'm in 7th grade.

Oh and Lifehousefans.com is withing the top ten links when searching for Lifehouse on at least 10 different search engines (I just checked) so no, it's not hidden. Anyone looking for Lifehouse could find it, and I personally, always check fan sites when looking for band stuff because official sites just aren't always that great...

And with that, Koen, can I lock this? I've always wanted to lock a thread....

1)No it's not ok, she started and should at least read what we have to say, even if she don't reply- she was attacking us and we've been VERY friendly. And now she's running away like a lil child.

I'm not protecting her, I just understand her point of view. And even though she said some things that in essence weren't true, I would much rather want to know why she said it than go all in the defense. I just don't like it when things blow up. She really felt like that and she wanted an explanation, so I was trying to give that. I didn't like how she worded things, because it came off wrong, but both her and we were passionate in our posts and then things can blow up quite easily, I was just trying to prevent that. Besides, what's wrong with being nice to someone?
