Last night my boyfriend and I helped my brother get a futon out of his friend's apartment because his friend is moving out of Philly and has no need for the futon. So around 10:30/11 at night my brother and my boyfriend were carrying a futon down the block (to my boyfriend's pick up). 2 drunk kids got on the elevator with us on the way down. The drunk girl laughed while drunk boy slurred "is this a college kid thing?" I guess I found the whole situation a bit amusing because I don't live on campus or really hang out on campus (longer than I need to) in general. And this afternoon it hit me...everyone who saw us probably didn't think anything about it was strange because its moving in week and school starts tomorrow. So we just looked like any other college kids...carrying a futon.  urgh...but all day yesturday we were busy helping move my brother's friend's junk out of his apartment. Spent WAY TOO much time in Home Depot trying to buy a door...then shopping at Ikea was another story. But I'm happy I got a dresser out of the whole ordeal and my boyfriend got a free futon which is SO much more comfortable than his bed. eh just thought I would share a little random saturday in the life of Mary with all of you! |

i just dropped koen off at the airport. he's on his way back to the netherlands now.  it sucks saying goodbye to him, and not being with him anymore... plus, i just moved out to arizona (i used to live on the opposite end of the country), so i have no friends here. *sigh* four more months until i see him again... |

So, today I had a family picnic and my cousin surprised everyone in my family by telling us he was going into the military, but then he shocked us even more by telling us he was leaving tonight. So, I found out my cousin was leaving for the military about 2 hours before he had to leave. My entire family cried, my poor grandma flipped out. But yeah it was a crazy day.
And work sucked.

Ugh, I started today at this new college, and it really makes me miss my other school. I don't have that feeling of being "home" at this new one. It's kind of depressing seeing all of my friends posting pictures on facebook of their apartments and I just think "I should be in those pictures". It's sad :-(

It's sad :-( Yeah I totally feel&share your pain there.... I see pictures of my friends from Montreal popping up on Facebook all the time... Like from parties, get togethers and so on... and I know if I was still there, I would have been there too. And here in Spain I am just unhappy with everything... so yea...I totally know where you're coming from. But hey at least in your school they speak the same language as you. I don't think you will have any problems making new friends quickly <3 |
