I returned from the concert a little while ago and just wanted to add a few general comments about it.
The setlist, in no particular order was:
Spin
HBAM
Y&M
First Time
SIB
The Joke
Whatever It Takes
Who We Are
Broken
Um...did they play DIsarray?? I can't remember. It wasn't a very long setlist, because there wasn't a lot of time before GGD had to come out. They may have played another song or two, but I'm like a walking zombie right now and can't remember. Yes I know it's only 9:30pm, but I have had a long day, I'm dehydrated and have a massive headache!
It's been over a year since I've seen the guys live and I really had a great time. I didn't get down there early enough to get a prime piece of real estate, but I was about 5 rows back or so. It was OK, but I think that's the farthest away I've ever been at a general admission show. It was really no big deal though. The guys had a great energy and Jason was pretty talkative, telling stories about some of the songs before he played them. He asked if the crowd wanted to hear Rick do a drum solo and Rick launched into it for about 5 seconds and then just stopped...it was pretty funny. That was right before they launched into WWA, so maybe they do that at every show, I don't know.
I don't really have any other comments to add, as I didn't stick around to see if they were going to hang out for a while nor did I see them beforehand.
I do want to say that I was really unimpressed with the opening act..Colby someone-or-another. She was seriously awful! No energy whatsoever, she didn't talk to the crowd, she looked utterly bored during a couple of guitar solos that Tim from her band played....she literally stood there on stage like a bump on a log. She's the worst person I've ever seen live. I don't mean to offend if anyone here is a fan of hers...the music was OK, but she really needs to put some energy into her concerts!
After Lifehouse came the fun part.....NOT. (That was Borat style). If I thought we were packed in like sardines during Lifehouse, I was completely wrong in my thinking. I have never experienced a crowd push as I did tonight as soon as Lifehouse left the stage. We ended up leaving before GGD came out because it wasn't worth it for us to stay. Neither of us would have fun being packed in like that and I don't even own a GGD CD, I only know their radio songs. So we left. There was nowhere else on the Arch grounds to sit unless we wanted to sit waaaaaaaaaaay to the left or waaaaaaaaaaaay to the right or up on the lawn where you couldn't even see the stage. It took us about 20 minutes to even get out of the crowd, it was that bad. Maybe I'm starting to get old or I'm showing my age by saying this, but I can't handle a crowd like that anymore. I could have 3-4 years ago, but I'm seriously too old and there are too many things wrong with my body, especially my knee, to handle that kind of thing.
Here's a link to the youtube files with videos I took. I did not take complete vids of any songs (honestly, my arm was getting tired of holding the camera up) other than Broken. My camera does not take high quality audio, but it's not the lowest quality either.
Spin
The Joke
Broken
Somewhere In Between
Who We Are
