kim-i'm dying of curiosity, what exactly does 'american studies' entail? what kind of classes are you taking? Hi there! Sorry for my late response. American Studies approaches the United States in different ways, through a lot of different courses. Last semester, for example, I took the courses Modern American History (Civil War - present), Rhetoric & Composition (developing English writing/speeching skills.. loooots of essay writing) and American Culture, Arts & Media (most interesting course of the first semester if you ask me.) The second semester just started a couple of weeks ago, and now I follow the courses Modern American Culture (which is basically just literature. We have to read books like Huckleberry Finn and other classics and Identity & Ideology, which is the most interesting course. It focuses on racism & race a lot, but also for example gender identity & feminism. Phew that was a long explanation! It's a very interesting study though However, it's pretty difficult from time to time. I see you live in New Jersey? Where in NJ? I love it there <3

Hi everyone,
This looked like a nice place, so after some debating (I wasn’t sure if I’d feel comfortable at a message board, as I have never done that before) I signed up. My name is Danielle and I am from the Netherlands. I’ve been listening to Lifehouse since 2000 when I fell in love with “Hanging by Moment”. I saw them live back in 2002 and a few weeks ago in Cologne and Amsterdam. All three concerts were amazing. Besides Lifehouse, I like dancing (salsa / meringue / belly dancing / Brazilian dance etc), music in general, cooking (and eating ha), snowboarding, reading and visiting concerts. I am married and we have 2 lovely daughters together. I hope to have a good time here and have fun with other Lifehouse fans.

I think Lifehouse should be informed about their growing Dutch Force, so they will get their butts back over here soon :-P
