why does that remind you of him? the melody, and the way Jason sings... kinda sounds similar to Gavin's style to me

Well, I'm a huge Gavin fan, and I didn't really think it sounded like him. I went back and listened to just a few tracks and I guess I can kinda of see where you might think it (kind of in "Meaning" when he says "Mounting, the trail, but you've got it in sight/Sometimes the only way is jumping/I hope you're not afraid of heights") but I wouldn't really say it's Gavin's style.
But can I just say that I love that part of "Easier to Be". That part always gets stuck in my head lol

Yeah, I guess on his album tracks I can hear the similarity also, but I think I can hear it better on songs that weren't on the Chariot album.. When I saw him live a few times, he played just as much non-album/new songs as album songs and I guess it's just more his style and often the way he improvises, that I can kinda hear in this part. It's not throughout the rest of ETB, just that part basically.. sort of the timbre in Jason's voice reminds me of it. It's not the same, but in the same tradition sorta. (okay, no one can follow me anymore lol )

I never thought of it that way but yes I do notice a similarity between the two. Good point out. I'll have to check out more of his stuff though, I've only heard a handful of songs.
