Seems like they're on a more permanent hiatus, now that Jason is legally bound to Sony. Is he even allowed to perform with the band when he's signed with them? The last album sort of already had its three singles released (Flight, Hurricane, and One for the Pain), though only Hurricane was actually pushed. Bryce has a full-length KOMOX LP in the works that's coming out this year, and Ricky is still barbecuing. I think that, if they are planning on continuing, it won't be any time soon. Weird that it was over two years ago that they released Flight, and almost two years ago that they announced the album and released Hurricane. I think it was around now that the cover contest was winding down.

kinda funny how they praised this album and how they felt like "being in the garage jamming again", giving everyone the feeling that the band is back to making music, when its clearly not the case. They didnt even tour the US on the last record, wtf?

I was kinda expecting this year Jason would release his solo-work. Instead he is writing music for other artists and for Sony? Don't really understand, is it for the money? Guess we won't hear anything soon, it's a shame for us fans.

I hate to say this but everything was readable between the lines right after the latest album was released. Based on Dublin's gig Jason's connection with the audience was poor and he even felt a bit arrogant to be honest. Song list paper with all the "take Facebook photo here" "thank Raglands" etc made me thing "is this how much they really are into this?". After the world tour Jason stopped Tweeting, Instagram account went private and to me the result is like they had enough of this and maybe want to try or live some other life. It's a shame because they had so much potential and still when I watch some of the NNF/Stanley Climbfall/Serge era videos it makes me even angry that they pick this path. But as a grown person I respect their choices and wish them all the best. Gladly music will always live.

maybe the guys don't even know the future of LH, lol. Robert..good point with the is he even allowed. it all depends on the kind of contract I guess. escalibur..I agree with you, and yet I disagree.part of me also felt the artificiality, then again, we all make notes when we need to speak publicly and there is a marketing side to the band too, whether we want it or not. Jason was really open and seemed quite happy offstage. I was at the dublin gig too, and whereas the sound wasn't the best, it was a good gig. he asked me what I thought was the best of the ones I went to, and the Utrecht one had magic, the cologne one did too. I do agree with you that Jason, at least, may want a different life. who can blame him? we are all looking for something that makes us happy. if something doesn't work anymore, then change is perfectly fine. Bryce seems to be enjoying what he is doing right now! it would have been nice to say the least, to get some sort of statement though... they are leaving the fans hanging. I still think Jason should release the solo things..there is so much we haven't yet heard..

I'm a little perplexed as well with where the band is at right now. I think the important thing to realize at the moment is that the guys seem pretty happy in their varying projects. I think that as fans, that's where our priority should be. We're always going to want new music and more shows, but what good is it if it isn't genuine. The music being genuine is what set Lifehouse apart from other bands (**COUGH** The Calling **COUGH**) that came out around the same time. I think the days are gone for this band to release a new album with a hit song and can be followed up with one or two more singles. It's not really a decline in quality. I revisited Almeria the other day and I really appreciated it more than what I had before. The Sony deal with Jason is somewhat interesting. In general, Jason can always tour as a musician or with Lifehouse. These are his songs and above anything else, he's the principal songwriter. Now, in regards to recording and releasing new music with the band, I would assume that is spelled out very clearly in his contract. Part of me hopes that the band would let us know if there was going to be a hiatus, but with the fact that we heard that a couple of years ago...maybe it's a fear of a "boy who cried wolf" type of thing. Having said all of that, if Jason is out for the time being and Bryce, Rick and Sean (Yes, Sean) want to tour the country playing Lifehouse songs with a new singer under the banner of Deathapartment...I'm available.

Yeah ledvedderman. I mean, I get it. People's priorities can change. What annoys me is the way they promoted the album like "omg guys check it out we're back to doing what we love, what we live for. We can't wait to go on tour and start this new era of Lifehouse with everyone!" .... from that to literally playing a few shows in Europe and then just disappearing again and not saying anything to anyone. We get the occasional picture on Facebook "can you guess what concert this was from?", it almost seems like they're mocking the fans.
It's just ironic the album is called "out of the wasteland" (and honestly, I really enjoyed this album and was hoping for more to come), when now, 2 years down the road it feels like they never really left "the wasteland" to begin with. I wish there were some "signs of life" (ha!)

Lack of any information is either arrogant or unprofessional at least to be honst. Do whatever floats your boat but a single tweet could be enough for the people who used to pay your salary.

I guess "We'll Never Know" why they're just "Walking Away" "Into the Sun."
Maybe Jason truly was just over the "Sick Cycle Carousel" of what it takes to keep the band running, but obviously still enjoys music/songwriting, and just prefers to help others succeed at this point.

Things just didn't go as they planned, and it's not easy for them without the label. Bryce got time for his band and his own record, Jason probably prefers to focus on songwriting and family life. I wish there would be some kind of statement for the fans though. If Bryce wouldn't keep the LH accounts alive, we probably wouldn't hear from them at all.

escalibur your last sentence, Totally! and it's not like Jason has no money..if he wanted, he could prolly set stuff up, even bands with NO money whatsoever do that..with vans and kickstarter and what not..to me, it just seems they want to focus on different things. and the LH page..I only like it because I like LH..but it could just as well not be there.

I wish they would give us clarity on their situation and not just runaway from the band. They can't make us hurt this way; lots of songs would be great but I'd be happy with even one, for the pain. In hindsight they realize that it's hard to tour without a record company backing them, so with the opportunity they took time to exhale and try new things. I hope KOMOX really takes flight!
In all seriousness, the writing is on the wall that they're done for now with the band. All of them said that they're still in the band and that eventually they will carry it on, but with Bryce's new record probably coming out in June and Jason doing so much Sony work it's not going to be any time soon. Mods, can we make a forum category on this site for KOMOX?

Robert silence is an answer too in my book..so in that sense, I agree. Btw: I haven't seen any new songs by Jason popping up..is that just me?

Well I replied to one of Bryce's throwback pictures he posted on his FB with Jason and Rick, like "so....are you guys dead again?" followed by a bit of a rant... didn't get a reply but hopefully he saw it.
I've kind of given up on this band ever fully getting back together. What a shame. Couldn't care less about KOMOX to be honest.
