The acoustic had a whole bunch of songs in it, all little bits and pieces that I can't remember... Jason did Butterfly as a special request. And please tell me it doesn't say "Utrecht, Germany" above your picture kingcarl .... (it's The Netherlands) LOL, because I'm in North America and our time zone is different I find it hard to keep track of which show they just finished. Your September 18 evening show happens the afternoon of my Sept 17, and so on. The Eighties set list was Germany, right??? Day three? I was writing Utrecht, Netherlands but then realized it was the Germany set list and forgot to hit backspace

Don't worry. It wasn't the Germany setlist by the way. They are in Germany right now, I believe. And from what I read here, in the acoustic set it was: - Joshua & The Edge in Amsterdam, - Eighties in Groningen, - Butterfly in Utrecht. All of them in The Netherlands.

Just got back from the Hamburg show. Jason played H2O during the acoustic set (i have an incomplete video of that which i will upload tomorrow after work) and firing squad and yesterday's son. Great show, great vocals. Was awesome to see them again! Terrible crowd though. I was the only one jumping up and down during the rock tracks

I was at two of the Lifehouse shows in the Netherlands: Amsterdam and Utrecht. I am glad that I went to both, as they were great but for different reasons. I was superexcited to be going to the Amsterdam show. The last time that I had seen Lifehouse live felt like ages ago. They started out pretty good with One for the pain. I was hoping that they would play that one as it is one of my faves from the new album. I definitely also expected them to play Hurricane, Flight, and Runaways from the new album, and they did. And I was pretty sure that somewhere in the setlist we would find Halfway Gone and Hanging by a moment. But then the rest of the setlist was such a huge surprise and in my opinion it was pretty damn near perfect! Just before the show I was saying that we had a slim chance of them playing Simon. As soon as I heard the first chord of it, I was floored. I couldn't believe that I was finally hearing this song live. Moments of sheer joy, right there And then all of the nuggets from their first album. And the acoustic set was amazing too. I struggled at first but a little ways into the song I did manage to figure out that Jason was playing Joshua! and I was also very surprised to hear The Edge. The crowd however was a bit disappointing. Many of them seemed to be just on-lookers. Not sure whether it has to do with the day of the week (it was a Tuesday). But setlist-wise, how could it be any better than this!? For the show in Utrecht, I was totally expecting to hear the same songs as in Amsterdam. But they came out rocking to Hurricane instead of One for the pain and followed with All In. My first reaction was: Wooah they changed the setlist and nice that they put back in All In as it is an energetic song that gets me to rock out. Then came Between the raindrops which was also unexpected. I am not a huge fan of this song, but live it was kinda nice. I also got to hear a snippet of Breathing in the acoustic set. Still waiting to hear it live and in full (maybe next time that they are in Holland?). I was a bit disappointed that Simon got swapped out. Nevertheless, I thought it was brilliant that they changed up the setlist. Because of that, the Utrecht show felt like an entirely new experience. Also, the crowd in Utrecht seemed much better. Plus, I had an awesome spot on the staircase. I found myself in the exceptional position of being at eye level with Bryce, where normally, I would be staring at people's backs (or butts when attending a concert. All in all, the show and the crowd made me very happy. I decided to fully enjoy the music and all of the goodness so I didn't take any videos. Secretly hoping that others would, and I am glad you did Rein! Thanks! Also looking forward to hearing the live version of H20, klein!

Ooops totally forgot to upload it. But its ok, somebody else in Cologne took a much better video than me of the whole acoustic set (H2O, Yesterday's Son, Firing Squad, Everything) which is the exact same acoustic set he played in Hamburg.
Enjoy

Man they really need to play longer sets. I was reminded again by the show in Hamburg how short their set feels. And there was almost zero interaction with the crowd, it felt pretty rushed. The musical performance was of course top-notch, but it felt so quick.
When you think about it...18 songs. One album has 12 songs, so about 45 minutes. A 90 minute show for a headliner seems a bit short. :S

As some of you are posting your comments about European show here is mine experience from Dublin gig. After seeing European Tour list I was bit disappointed that they didnt came any closer to Finland. However last London gig in 2010 was nice trip so this time I've decided to go (with my gf) to Dublin. Never been in Ireland before so it was a solid reason to check the city too. I've ordered the tickets as soon as they were available and luckly nowdays it is possible to get them by mail compared to London's gig where my friend from UK had to oreder them for me. The tickets arrived within a few weeks even delivery could've been "few weeks before the show". We found a nice hotel about 10min walk from Olymbia just to be there on time without hassling around the city. I won't write about the whole trip so I wil make long story short -> on Monday we went to eat some lunch near Olympia venue. I couldn't have expected that but Rick was waiting for the traffic lights on the opposite site of the streets. I told my gf 'look there is LH's drummer' and she ripled 'should you say 'Hi' to him?' but I didn't want to be that crazy 'teenage girl'. Later I realised that I've should probably kid him by asking which restauraunt he suggests in Dublin. After walking back to hotel passing by Olympia some girls were already waiting in the line (probably 4-5 of them) and one of them was staring on me for maybe a bit too long. I don't know why because I don't think I ever showed my photo to any LH fans. At the gig time there was no line in front of Olympia so we went straight in. The show wasn't sold out so inside was about 1/3 and 1/2 at the most of people what could fit in. Just after opening band started to play the venue was pretty much full but there was still some free space left. Opening band was bit boring and too generic. Too british-like and the singer sounded way too much Oasis-styled. Reminded me of those street musicians which could be seen on many western cities' streets. Then came THE SHOW. As I've could estimate there wasn't any opening covers like back in 2010 so they started with Hurricane. They played 3 songs before saying anything (can't remeber the order but Le Bataclan's list seems to be very close to this one). After the third song Bryce said something like "How are you?" then they went on. After a few songs Bryce asked 'Do we have any old school LH fans in here?" and almost everyone started to yell. I was happy about it because that gave me some hope maybe they will play Joshua. Bryce replied "We have some older stuff for you". After some songs Jason started his acoustic set and I can't remeber well did he even said anything before it. Then they went on and played the rest of the songs until encore. Before encore Jason indruduced the band and Bryce introduced Jason. (I knew the end of the show is nearing) Encore was a bit lame because they left without saying anything, Winnie and another guy started to touch the speakers without actually removing anything. I knew it was 'a cheap' trick because usually you start from the drumms and cables. Anyway the crowd was yelling and applouding then they came back and played 2 more songs. After that still no proper talk about the city, country or the crowd just clichés "Thank you! You are amazing! See you soon." Bryce wanted to take a photo with his iPhone by asking the crowd to show some hands and promising 'this is for our Facebook page' and it seems that he lied after all. I hoped to maybe see myself and/or my gf because we were at quite good spot but obviously that photo will never been published. After the gig we went out and some girls were waiting by the taxi bus next to Olympia's wall. I didn't want to wait and we hit some bar for a few drinks. There was some cover band playing and they sounded really really good. (I'm quite picky on this) Ironically they talked with the audience etc...and it felt quite bad to be honest. I know LH is not a pub band but still. To sum everything up I have very mixed feelings about the show. The set list was well mixed even All in All was a strange choice in my opinion. The sound was quite good even once again it felt maybe a bit too loud. Stuart was better than what've expected. He reminded me of Serge-era LH. In my opinion he fits LH much better than Ben. But everything felt so rushed as their gig in London in 2010 and as some of you have told aswell. There was almost zero interraction between Jason and the audience. I know he is probably not the most social person in the world but as a singer and leader it would be so nice to have a few words between the songs or tell some random story about the event/city/country/whatever. It is very cheap way to make your audience see that you are not doing it just for the money with 0 interest about anything what is not promised in advance. Somehow he gave me a feeling like he must be feeling like being a huge rock star who is tired of everyone around you saying how amazing you are. (His social media activity, not thanking the fans in OOTW's booklet etc could underline it.) And I'm not even on FB/Twitter/Instagram/Snapchat myself. I never had a chance to meet him in person so I cannot speak how is he off the stage but based on this I really had different picture of him. I'm not saying that he should come down and hug everyone who has came to the show but that 'humility' was totally missing. It's a shame because I don't think that they are that big band and that can even damage their success. I'm sure many of us can agree on 'that in terms of success they have done better before'. This show definitely left me thinking that after a month or two they will barely remeber anything from this show. As good as they are to me they just couldn't hide how everything was so systematic with pretty much 0 improvisations or details what could have separate one random show from another. So that was it. I'm not sure is anyone even interested to read this and I appologise for my poor english. Here is one of a few photos I took during the show: I even shot few high speed 240fps clips with my iPhone but I'm not sure are they worth publishing.

I agree with most of what you said.. actually nearly everything. I loved the show. I mean, musically it was great. The band was super tight, there was the occasional messup by the new guitarist, but nothing too noticeable. But me, and as well the gf both felt it was really rushed. They spoke like 3 quick sentences to the audience and that was it. Actually reading Escaliburs post, they were exactly the same phrases "Do we have any old school LH fans here?" "youre amazing. "we love *insert city name*"............i actually found this pic of a setlist from Paris. .. It looks exactly how the show felt. The interaction seemed really fake and it was kind of sad to see after seeing them before and them being the exact opposite. The opening band played like a 40 minute set and they talked and joked a lot, and came across genuinely nice and funny. I know LH can be hilarious, all the interviews, other shows they have played... but they just went from song to song without anything... at some point my GF was actually telling me how "the singer still hasnt said thank you" after we applauded them on the 6th song. Overall, they have definitely improved musically. They have never sounded this tight. Vocals were flawless, drums were smooth and groovy, the bass was perfect. But their audience interaction was very asbent unfortunately

That's a shame, I always like it when Jason tells little stories (and the little sketch they used to do at the end of the acoustic set with Ricky and his pillow). The only thing I can think of is that they feel awkward speaking to a crowd that they expect doesn't speak English. That, or the venue is super strict time-wise and they'd rather fit in another song.
Raglans playing a 40-min set is odd...

I wouldn't say that you need to be shy of speaking english in Dublin. (Honestly I don't think that UK/Australia shows will be any different.) I forgot to mention that I coulnd't even imagine how well Runaways sounded live. It once again proved that studio production sucks because the song could have been so much better with much more raw sound. That setlist with written inserts left me speechless. After all these years of experience...really? (I was wondering what did they wrote on them because I couldn't read them properly during the show. Also one of the security guys didn't want to give a list to some girl who asked for it even he had it in his hand after the show. No wonder.)

I can agree that Jason could be a bit more active with the audience during the show, that was my impression from the Amsterdam gig as well. It's mostly Bryce who does the talking and all the phrases on the French setlist were written for him. Actually those phrases showed up for the first time on the French setlist (I think) and I know that Bryce really wanted to greet the audiences in their countries in the local languages, but he had problems with learning (he wanted to say something in Dutch, eventually he greeted the audience in Paris because he knows a bit French). They are getting older and have memory problems , this time they even needed lyrics for the bridge part of "Flight" printed and left on stage so they wouldn't mess it up. I guess they really want things to go in the right order, that is all. But I agree that for the audience it may seem a bit artificial. Jason's interaction with the crowd got better and better with each show, at least at those 4 I attended. I cannot complain about the interaction because I had a lot of fun with them. In Groningen we brought Starbucks cups and wrote misspelled names on them and we rocked out with them during "Stardust" - because Bryce told us that he found a lyric video for "Stardust" that had "Starbucks" instead of the original song title. Since then Jason wasn't able to stay serious during that song whenever he saw us in the crowd. And I can tell you that he was really happy during this tour in comparison to shows from 2011. In Paris, at les Etoiles, all 4 of them were very enthusiastic and both Jay and Bryce talked more, even if there was not so much of that storytelling you guys would want to experience at their show. I think that when they went independent they didn't really know what to expect from the crowd and if there are still people who want to see them after Almeria happened and the whole hiatus thing... so they were cautious and focused on playing the songs the best they can. When we first heard "Flight" during Amsterdam soundcheck Jason's vocals were perfect, better than at the show later. Oh and "Runaways"... I wasn't a big fan of that song on the album, but that live version left me speechless. Oh and the changes in the setlist after 2 shows already... Jason was so proud to tell me that in Utrecht the setlist will change... We tried to convince him to play more of the new stuff, first he was like : "but guys, we just learned how to play Flight" but after 3 shows he finally decided to include "H2O", "Yesterday's son" and "Firing Squad" in the acoustic part of the set and those were the songs we and some people in the first rows requested. I also got a snippet of "Alien" . I guess he needs time to convince himself that changes are good and that we don't have to listen to the same old songs all over again.
