Bryce just announced that the record will be coming out in April! The band just yesterday finished filming the video for their first radio single, which will be out in a month or so. Looks like it takes place in a jail... my interest is officially piqued. They also said that the new album will have "bonus tracks", which is always good to hear, and confirmed that this project started as Jason's second solo record (which we've known for a while).
Happy holidays!

Well I have some big news... the cover has been announced! Have a look: I certainly didn't expect that kind of aesthetic, but it's still well done. The fact that they chose a highly detailed classic pen and ink drawing is fairly promising in relation to the new sound. Here's what we know so far about the new album:
- April release with the first single this month (music video takes place in a jail)
- twelve tracks with six bonus (including older unreleased songs)
- lots of piano, three or four songs reminiscent of No Name Face
- Bryce will sing on a new track
- Jason cowrote a song called Hourglass with James Newton Howard (soundtrack artist for the Hunger Games and many others)
- Central Park will finally be featured, having been first tracked November 2009 (supposedly reminiscent of Somewhere in Between)
- Hurricane, Runaways, and Hourglass were cowritten by Jude
- Flight, Yesterday’s Son, Central Park, LAX, and Alien were written only by Jason

Big news: the first single will be Hurricane!
I'll make a dedicated thread to talking about the single, but this thread will simply aggregate all of the Seven info we know until its release. No need to reply to this thread, as we'll probably be discussing things in other dedicated threads.

I really like the cover of their next album. Plus 7 is my favorite number! I cannot wait for this album!

So, as was posted in the Hurricane thread, today we got a tracklist and, strangely, an album title. Turns out they're gonna call it "Out of the Wasteland". 1. Hurricane (3:09) 2. One for the Pain 3. Flight (4:17) 4. Runaways 5. Firing Squad 6. Wish 7. Stardust (3:47) 8. Alien 9. Central Park 10. Hurt This Way 11. Yesterday's Son 12. Hourglass
Things to note: Bryce's brilliant 2013 song Stardust finally gets some love (first Lifehouse song not written by Jason?), Wish will be featured officially for the first time, the final track was cowritten with soundtrack artist James Newton Howard and is said to heavily feature harmonies and big string arrangements, and Central Park (first tracked in November 2009) will finally be on an album. The new titles revealed today are "One for the Pain", "Firing Squad", and "Hurt This Way"; seems as though they scrapped LAX, unless it's a bonus track (of which there are six, four for Target and two for iTunes).
As of now, we already know how a third of the album goes; very excited about the rest!

The album will be out May 19th according to Billboard! Also, we have a new new cover that includes elements from the last one:

Thoughts on the new title? I wonder if "Out of the Wasteland" has anything to do with the fact they're no longer under Geffen Here are my musings on the tracklist: - Hurricane - I expected this to be the first song even before I knew the song, it just seemed like a "first track" title to me
- One for the Pain - the guys said they're looking forward to playing this one live, so it's probably an upbeat rocker like Hurricane
- Flight - I figured this would be the last track on the album, so now I really want to hear Hourglass
- Runaways - the title intrigues me, seems like a softer track but you never know
- Firing Squad - doesn't seem like a Lifehouse song title, in the same vein as Nerve Damage or Moveonday. Proceed with caution
- Wish - J cut strings for the song back in April 2014, meaning that he never fully finished Paper Cuts before the guys started the new project
- Stardust - my favourite of Bryce's songs, this one is pop but in the best way possible. Perhaps they've put a LH twist on it, it is very KOMOXey
- Alien - also doesn't seem like a Lifehouse song title, so we'll see
- Central Park - very optimistic about this one, supposedly like Somewhere in Between (J wrote it before S&M came out)
- Hurt This Way - supposedly reminiscent of Almería; not sure if that means space-cowboy pop, ugly autotuned pop, '70s classic rock or country
- Yesterday's Son - see above. I'm expecting this one to be country, à la Barricade
- Hourglass - supposedly harmony-heavy with lots of strings, I'm most pumped for this track (a new All That I'm Asking For?)
As far as bonus tracks go, there are going to be two for iTunes and four for Target. I'm expecting LAX to be one, as it was registered with the rest of them. They recorded some acoustic tracks, one of which was Wash, so there's potential for that to be bonus. They said there would be some unreleased ones, so I could see Angeline making it on there. There was a song from the Who We Are sessions called Tired of Waiting that was shelved, so maybe they pulled a By Your Side and tried it again (just making things up at this point). Someone on Twitter suggested a few months back for them to do a Broken (Live in studio) version like Everything, and Jason really took to the idea (no confirmation anything happened, just speculation).
I love speculating about new songs...Ah, it is a good time to be a Lifehouse fan.

Where did you see/hear/read that they recorded an acoustic version of Wash? It's actually one of my favorite songs of theirs, but there is already an acoustic version of Wash out there that I thought was supposedly done in a studio (I'm not really 100% sure on how it was recorded or released, but it's definitely out there).

instagram.com/p/xsA5HVSE1jRicky posted a clip on Instagram a few weeks back; the version of Wash you're thinking of is from the EuroAustralian release of the Spin single (along with Sky Is Falling and an acoustic Spin).

New article on lifehousemusic.com talking about the new album in more detail! So Jason actually had three solo albums in the works, interesting. I like the short backstory on Wish, and I knew Central Park was from before S&M, didn't know it dates back to 2007. Very intrigued about how Alien is more "playful". Jason said there are a lot of mellow tracks on this record, maybe one with country influences. Also, Winnie coproduced this time.

That made my day! I loved the WWA vlogs and it's great to see a series like that make a return. Did anyone else notice the music in the background? Sounds like a new song minus the vocals, similar to Flight (actually almost Switchfoot-esque). I wonder if that's Hourglass... Very excited!

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ I was thinking the same thing (that it might be Hourglass).
I hope they stay on top of these, and also come up with a good pre-order package soon too!
