on first listen. whoa. i glanced at the lyrics aminta posted and i was like.."no more (blanks)" times 10 and was worried it'll be cringed worried, but its pretty uplifting and spiritual (not in the worship sense). i have nothing negative to say about it. i like the tender tone of jason's vocals here than i did on the past 2 albums.
i'm looking forward to hearing other's reaction.

Looks like Linda Perry worked with them on this song, her name shows up in the "composer" section of the German Amazon file.

As I said to Minka earlier today, I'm cautiously optimistic. I like how the song is reflective and interpretative, reminiscent of earlier Lifehouse days (without sounding like the songs from those days sonically). I also like the tone of the song. However, the past 2 (or maybe 3) albums have caused me to not be as invested with Lifehouse and its music over the past few years. So one song doesn't exactly draw me back in completely, though it definitely blows the door back open and I am excited to hear what the rest of the new songs are going to offer us.

first half of the song sounds like Learn You Inside Out.. which I never really liked.. was boring for me
but from the bridge onwards... it's epic <3

As long as the songs are for purchase, I'd rather have no links on here. Live versions are fine but no single/album versions please. You can post the streaming links (it's on spotify already and will probably be on deezer and other streamers soon as well)

Best $1.29 I spent in a long time What a beautiful song. Does anyone know if this song is just a simple release or will lead to a full length album? I just don't know since I hadn't heard much about them coming off hiatus, and Bryce has his Komox side project, I'm curious if this is just a "we had a song we wanted to share" type of deal, or if there's an album in the works. I hope its the latter. |
