Torn on this version of Wish, thinking I prefer the OOTW version. This Central Park has minor differences and different percussion, more like a near-finished demo (think the difference between the DLD SIB and the NNF version).

I'm very glad Central Park is very close to the LH version. Cause that song, i wouldn't change a thing!  That song! Close your eyes and just listen and dream away. It's one of my favorite LH songs. That song is so beautiful! Espacially with headphones. I wasn't sure if i wanted to hear a other version of Wish, but i have to say this version is surpisingly good! I really love this! I'm glad it's now finally released as a whole album now. |

Now that Paper Cuts is out in its entirety, everyone vote on your favourite tracks!
This album is one of my all-time favourites by any artist, ranked right up there with NNF and WWA. I cannot get enough of it. Every track except Satellites, Along the Way, and this version of Clarity (Lifehouse one is 10/10 this one is a 5/10) is just sublime. I can't decide on everything so I've grouped them:
1. Penelopieces
2. Angeline, Goodbye, Clarity (OOTW), Wish (OOTW)
3. Shiny Silver Beast, Sink or Swim, Breathe Easy
4. Stretch, Chapter Two, Central Park (PC) (OOTW)
5. Paper Cuts, Wish (PC)
6. Along the Way
7. Satellites, Clarity (PC)

I'm disappointed with how Along the Way turned out. I really wish Jason didn't cut the bridge of that song. That bridge elevates the song, IMO. But I don't the faster tempo though

You don't wanna know how much i love this album!
My favorites are Penellopicies, Breathe Easy, Goodbye, Chapter Two, and Shiny Silver Beast.
That piano part on Penellopices is amazing!
I like Goodbye because it's so completly different.
The lyrics of Shiny Silver Beast! WOW! beautifully written!
The beginning of Central Park with that piano in it. I can't stop listen to that. I love that part.
Chapter Two sounds like a classic LH song.
I like that folky sound on the rest of the songs.

As 2017 comes to a close, I'd rank Paper Cuts as my favourite album I heard this year. Looking back at my tracklist ranking, I've made a few changes after hearing everything on repeat; thought I'd add in the other EPs J released, to see my favourite Jason songs from the past twelve months. OOTW versions of any songs don't count, except Angeline as it was the only one that was the same  1. Penelopieces, Angeline, Wish (PC) 2. Idk where exactly to write this in the forum so i guess i'll ask here, does anyone know of any active lifehouse tab and chord websites? i've been looking through the forum but can't seem to find any websites that are still up. I have been wanting to play some lifehouse music for a while now without having to look at ultimate guitar which does not have many lifehouse tabs but rather the generic chords to the more popular songs like you and me. I used to run a tab/chord site years ago but as with most things, I didn't have enough time to maintain it. Ultimate-Guitar is one of the only places I know of. There was an old LH site hosted on Angelfire geocities that had a lot of tabs from DLD and SCF (Rev Cry, Mudpie, Fool, F&SC, Crown of Scars, My Precious etc.) but it's long gone. I'll see if I can find any of the older stuff if you want. As for full out tabs - there isn't much. NNF had a book, S/T had a book that wasn't very accurate IMO and then a "best of" collection which contained a mix of things from NNF -> WWA (maybe SaM too but I think it was released before that). I feel like after the WWA days, tabs and chords started to die down as far as LH is concerned. There was this guy Morten Junker who used to tab out a lot of LH songs himself and record multi-track covers (leads, bass, drums, etc.) but I haven't seen him active since maybe the S/T days. EDIT: I must say, I'm very impressed this is still here. It was geocities not angelfire. (Link: www.geocities.ws/nonsuch_rogue/ ) You NEED an ad blocker to view that site. The ads block any link from the page from working. I'd recommend saving any tabs/chords you want before they are gone for good. EDIT2: See attachment for download of all tab/chord webpages. |
