Though I do like this song, I always thought it was odd, never really got what it was about. I seem to remember reading Jason not wanting it out at some point? duno if that was true or some BS.
There's that low quality wma of this song floating around, and i never found much mention of it anywhere until that guy with the gold demo thing on ebay a while back and the listing had a clip of it. It's definitely from back in the day, Blyss just before NNF sort of time period...

Anyways, just wondered peoples thoughts / interpretations?

It's part of the demo album Jason/Lifehouse did in the initial stages of (acquiring) his record deal with Dreamworks, so the song originates from the Blyss era but was never officially released. There's a raw recording floating around but only people who have (had access) to the demo album have (heard) the proper recording.

That's why the Gold Album (= demo) was such a big deal.


As for the meaning of the song. Everyone can probably hear something different in it, but to me it suggests the ups and downs in the relationship with a higher power or with life itself.

I think it is a great song. But if I'm not mistaking, Jason himself released it as a mp3 a number of years ago. I remember getting it from a Lifehouse-fans website. There were a good collection of b-sides and live versions back in the day. Where has that website gone? Don't remember correctly, but my version is a pretty good one, not a raw recording.

There is a version that has better quality, correct. I think it was one of the LHF easter eggs once. (I could be mistaken though). I had totally forgotten about that one. LHF hasn't been around for years, which is one of the reasons why this message board emerged. Many of the previous members visited this board, but through the years the dynamic changed and people seem to be more active through social media than through message boards and with the stylistic changes Lifehouse has gradually chosen since 2003, some fans have moved on are aren't as involved anymore. So I suppose the community that was on LHF has dispersed somewhat.

Koen, do you have any more info on the Gold album? Was this ever "released" (unofficially)? I'd like to checkout the tracklist or even a copy of the demo if anyone is willing to share. I really can't wait for Jason's solo stuff. I personally think it'll be more reminiscent of the earlier days of Lifehouse, at least lyrically.
