So as most of you will remember Jason was writing new music for a solo record late in the summer. He just posted up on Twitter a couple of things (for those that don't use or follow): "Headed back into the studio tomorrow! Getting real close. New music soon!!" and then... "Back in the studio instagram.com/p/lIm0ADrXiN/" I'm still confused on the status of Lifehouse though. I saw the post about them taking a break, then Jason mentioned a solo album but then I thought I saw Jason post that Lifehouse was still making music. I know Bryce is working on Komox Kids now but he's had side projects before (albeit this one looks a bit more permanent). What are your thoughts? |

Bryce said on twitter recently that they band is coming out of "retirement" to play some shows as Lifehouse, but they are not going in the studio to record together as a band (yet). I don't think Bryce has given up on LH. Someone asked on twitter if Ricky was leaving to join the GGD, and he replied that he hoped not. That was enough for me to get the impression they're not done yet.
As per Jason -- I would assume it's solo stuff he's recording.

Jason, Bryce and Ben are all working on their solo stuff but so far Lifehouse played a show in Tampa, at the end of this month they're going to play in Malaysia and there's another date for Florida in April so it looks like they may play as a band from time to time. But as Yuliya said, no Lifehouse record in plans for this year.

So according to Jason's twitter, "Angeline" and "Wish" are being recorded. Great to see him using Twitter a lot lately. I honestly thought someone hacked his account until Bryce chimed in a few times on his tweets.

That's good to hear, hoping Jason goes back to listen to what made their music great, Wish is from Stanley Climbfall, b-side i think, but I've never found it on any commercial singles... Dude should put down Climb a long with the rest of the backlog of material he's got that needs a studio recorded release lol  |

I think (based on some of the things Jason mentioned, both recently and a while ago) that he's going to be recording a lot of stuff. Old stuff, new stuff, songs he has on the shelf that he never quite finished and tackles with a fresh mind, etc. etc. It seems he's looking for his roots musically, the core of his music (so not necessarily sonically, but emotionally). Normally I get tired of waiting pretty quickly, but I think in this instance it's good he is taking his time to come up with something that really satisfies himself. Because he needs to believe in it himself before he can really get it across to others.
As for the band, they're all still pals and they seem to be booking tour dates when and where it pleases them without the pressure of HAVING to tour or HAVING to play. I think that takes the pressure off and it gives them all time to spend on other endeavors. Whether Lifehouse is going to be back in its original form, another form or not at all (in the long run), time will tell, but I think they all just needed a little break to recharge and get their ducks in a row. Seems like they are on a productive path, based on what I'm seeing/hearing.

Jason just tweeted to some fans that he's "putting the finishing touches on the record" and that there will be 11 songs on the album

Just listened to the interview aminta posted. Jason expects his solo album to be released in 3-4 months! I'm so pumped! I think I may just buy like 10 copies out of pure excitement. |
