I've been reading a lot of reviews on Amazon mp3 and such, and am utterly shocked at lack of interest in Natasha Bedingfield on the Raindrops track. I think she sounds beautiful, the harmonies are gorgeous later in the song with the unique timber of Jason Wade's voice, and together they sound amazing.. I seriously love this song right now, even more now that I've seen the video, it's so adventurous/mysterious/pretty! I really like the unique feel of the album too! I guess the fan base is just getting older, and naturally falls away a bit as the next generation of Bieber fans take over.

Without trying to start up the whole discussion again that happened on here before I think the sentiment is that a part of the fans didn't connect to the new material (for whatever reason, for some it was the lyrics, for some the music, for some the depth, for some another reason, to each their own). And yeah, it's probably natural there's a shift to a different/broader audience, but everytime something happens around Lifehouse you see most of the 'old' people return on the boards, websites & social media, so I think people are still (somewhat) invested.

Everyone is invested except for the band it seems. Like, where is the tour? Or any Facebook updates or news? It just seems like the band is dead.... some sign of life would be nice...

I don't know how many people follow Matt Nathanson, but a while ago, an article/interview with him came out that said he was the father of a 2 year old child, and like, nobody knew he had a baby. Ever since then, part of me wondered if maybe one of the members of LH extended their family, but wanted to keep it under wraps and thus, is using this downtime to spend with their family instead of rushing into a tour. This is TOTAL RANDOM SPECULATION for the record. I'm not trying to start a rumor or anything, I just have that theory sometimes lol.

I check the board quite often for updates on the band and to see if there are any upcoming tour dates. The lack of touring has really made an impact on my interest in the band. I've been to several concerts and will always be a huge fan but until the concert last night in Indiana I really had no interest in the new record. However, after last nights show I am willing to give the record another shot. I think more tour dates will definitely revive most fans interest in the band.

Yuliya, I had the same thought you did, that somebody had a kid recently. Another favorite band of mine, i don't want to say the name, but they are in the same genre/age range and they totally disappeared for awhile, and then a fan of theirs found out and reported that two of the band members became fathers recently.

I don't wanna speculate too much either, you know...since I normally hate that and part of me does not want to voice my idea since most likely it's completely off...but that still is what I have been thinking for a while (of course, record label stuff might also not go as planned, and there might be a whole other reason too..but baby or baby on the way..

I'm not really digging all the showing-off on Facebook about the awesome places they are traveling to ... Their image has also changed a lot. Anyone remember how modest they used to be in their appearance? Wow, that is a huge judgement to put on people you don't know. So, everyone else on Facebook can post their photos of places they've traveled to, and that's ok, but Lifehouse band members can't? Why is there a different set of standards for them? And why would you make the leap from some travel photos to an arrogance of sorts? Their image hasn't changed at all. You're interpreting things based on nothing but a few photos on social media. "Modest in their appearance"? They're still the same guys wearing jeans and t-shirts who come talk to fans more than any other band I've seen. They have lives that allow them to travel to places some will never get to-why is that something to criticize? Why begrudge them when they get to go to some great places and then share those experiences with fans? They don't have to. They don't have to tweet, use Facebook or come out after shows to say hi to people, but they do. I just saw their show Saturday. In my opinion, you're wrong on everything you said about them above.

A letter from Jason: (On Facebook)
To my friends and fans,
As most of you know, Lifehouse has been together for fourteen years. I was signed to Dreamworks Records in 1999 and released No Name Face in 2000. Dreamworks folded the label in 2004 and our contract was sold to Interscope/Geffen. We made 4 albums under Geffen's label in nine years. (Lifehouse, Who We Are, Smoke & Mirrors and Almería)
It's been a pleasure to work with some great people there. I pay respects to these folks because they didn't actually sign the band, but did their best to work our singles and albums, follow our touring etc. With the vast amount of change that's taken place in as many years it's become our instinct at this time to shake hands with Geffen, go our separate ways and begin a new chapter.
And while the business side is doing it's thing I've been focused on what I do best, writing and recording new material in my studio. With this new freedom has come a new sound that doesn't really reflect the band's previous work. My instinct is to draw on a blank canvas, allowing Lifehouse to be the band it's always been. We've made 6 studio records, done countless videos and toured millions of miles. The rest of the band are currently working on their own separate projects as well, so creatively this is a welcome hiatus for everyone.
So without getting too wordy, let me just thank you for being there through it all and assure you we are not breaking up. Lifehouse is solid, and an extension of my own family. We'll continue to make records and tour as we always have, but for now I need to experience a new start with something fresh for my own inspiration. I have a new record that I've made almost entirely myself, and another one in the works. More details in the coming weeks, but I felt the need to clear the air about a lot of rumor and conjecture.
Again, my sincere thanks you all, our fans. You've been loyal to us for many years and I don't plan on letting you down now! Peace, Jason
I actually think this is a really good thing. There needed to be a split, and it explains a lot. I still wish there would be a full tour, but I'm excited to hear some Jason solo music. I think that should be amazing.

I'm really excited to hear Jason's solo album. It's almost a relief to hear straight from them what has been going on.
