The thing is the album isn't doing that great. I can see OYTO as the next single but it's really too quiet in the LH camp and it's not helping them at all. There might be numerous reasons why there's no real tour yet and it doesn't have to do with Almeria doing good or bad. But I think there may be more shows in the Summer, I just don't expect them in Europe soon.

I think you may be underestimating the cost of a tour and overestimating the amount of success Lifehouse has had to finance such a tour. Don't forget, just recording an album costs a loooot of money, and the fact that they spent 1 1/2 years to make Almeria is not helping things. That's 1 1/2 years of paying engineers, producers, sound guys, session musicians, mixers, etc. - not to mention the band itself. That cost alone is probably enormous.
They aren't even doing radio promo stuff anymore or small acoustic gigs to promote the CD, kind of weird but not surprising considering the mediocre reception of the lead single.
The album came out in December. It is now April. That's 5 months. No word on a tour. No word on a 2nd single... I wouldn't even be too shocked if Geffen dropped them after this. Which might not be a bad thing for the band to be honest. A new label could be just what they need.

Yes they need a fresh start more than anything else. IMO Geffen hasn't been that good for them after all. Jude could stay with Geffen. Obviously trip to Philippines might be cancelled aswell. ps. Have you noticed that Bryce is having some another project/band according to his FB/Twitter? Another good news.

Bryce has been working on those side projects for ages now..do not see a problem there:p. Something is up, whatever that might be: if it's private or has to do with the album, promoters etc.
But I just hope they get over that sooner rather than later and get their butts on tour:p

I think the main concern is probably of a financial nature. Like Daniel said, to make an album is a costly business, even for established bands and big labels. And if the reception isn't what they hoped for, money isn't flowing back to cover the investment and choices have to be made on how to proceed so that they can get the best return on their initial investment. Sometimes it's better to cut your losses and come up with something new or surprising to generate interest.
I'm not saying that's the case, but I imagine a situation like that could be emerging for Lifehouse/Geffen. But we'll see, I'm sure eventually something will be announced.

If they announce a headlining tour of the same venues theyve been playing for the past 10 years -- tickets will sell. If they tour in 2013 it would very much be a profit for them. Kind of weird they havent announced anything in light of low record sales. If anything they would want to tour MORE now than ever.
Ive given the record a few more spins since its release and Ive warmed up to some of it. I certainly will never praise it (nor do I particularly care to hear any of it live, sans Aftermath or BTR).

The band may want to tour, but if the label is not behind it, things are going to be complicated. However, I really don't know what exactly it is that's going on, but it's strange there is no news at all.

Maybe Geffen is considering to fire them. They had 4 chances and the records are just not selling that much compared to the freedom they got to make them.
I really hope for a fresh start.

Actually, the previous albums did rather well.
Geffen, however isn't what it used to be. It was merged with Interscope and A&M, so it's much smaller than it once was. I think Universal might consider downsizing their sublabels even more in a time where big labels don't always have it easy.

The topic should be changed to "What should be our next record company?"

We have crapped quite a bit on the record company. Maybe rightfully so, I don't know. I'm just wondering whether it really is just the record company. I feel that Lifehouse has been focusing on creating something new, using new sounds, and be creative, thinking out of the box. It seems that this has maybe distracted them a bit from outputting stuff that comes from the heart. Things seem to be less heartfelt. It's more of a production now. Maybe instead of going back to no name face, it should be framed as "go back to basics"?
