Okay, my hands are trembling as I type this. Long story short, I felt a bit nostalgic and did a little digging about the winners of that Heineken USC competition so many years ago. We were hopeful for the vid to be posted in 2008, then 2009 and eventually we knew it was a lost cause. So I came across the cinematographer of this movie that was involved in the MMO project and googled his name for a bit. Found his website and under Music Videos HOLY CRAP THERE IT WAS!!! LIFEHOUSE. OKAY ENOUGH TALK, VIDEO HERE: www.jayvisit.com/lifehouse.htmlTHANK YOU MR VISIT. WHY would anyone want to hide a gem such as this from us? Anyway, what are your thoughts o patient Lifehouse fans? *edit: Apparently this is a private video on vimeo, perhaps it would be wise to ask for the permission of the owner of this video first? Maybe there was a legal reason as to why LH never released it. Anyway, I've already sent an email addressed to the owner of the website! Should it be his wish for the video to be taken down, I guess we would have to respect that. In the mean time... *coughsomeonepleasemakeacopyofthiscough*

I just watched the video for the second time... it allowed me to calm down from the excitement of just knowing it actually existed and to really watch it... it's actually QUITE good. I got some chills the second time... I actually think it's brilliant... very artistic... packed with little symbolic things... an interesting little story within a story... cool how they made it look like water when the lyrics say "swimming on" ... the mirror with Jason in it... haunting... at the end, it somehow made it seem like we entered someone's brain and swam in it... mirroring the songs lyrics a litttle... anyone care to discuss... cuz I'm all about this right now. It's really cool and I forgot how much I love that song. Remember when Lifehouse used to open with that song? lol... I do

Wow, I didn't know that the guys were actually in it! I was really surprised when I saw Jason in the mirror. I was like omg, is that Jason??? lol! I think that was my favorite part.

Did anyone catch what book it was at 1:34? At first glance I thought it was a Kiefer Sutherland book. I think it mostly plays with the idea of living up to someone's expectations - hence the different clothing in the various mannequins (which includes a fireman, baseball player and even a groom's outfit etc) - and for the mannequin to touch the peg doll like that, perhaps it was hoping for a new start of sorts. Not so sure what the umbrella is supposed to signify, perhaps it's own sense of personality, but I may be looking too deep into it lol. I do love the video though, very carefully thought out Oh, how could anyone forget the glorious MMO+Spin combo!

Wow, I didn't know that the guys were actually in it! When I first watched the video, I literally went... "this can't be it... this cannot be it. There's no way this is it." Then I saw three shadows passing by I had to actually stop and replay again just to be sure I wasn't seeing the ghost of Rick/Bryce/Jason. It was that moment I knew this was the real deal! Way to sneak them in subtly at the beginning though. Heh.

Wow! First off- I haven't been on here in a long time. It's bringing up a lot of old memories... I can't believe someone finally found the video, after all this time! Good job! Not a huge fan of the actual video, but I'm stoked about it finally coming to surface

I like your intepretation Liz:-) and the mirror image had me too..I was like: can that be?? can it be??? naaah, but I knew what I saw:p I love how the vid is not a standard one, I can imagine a large audience not appreciating it, but THIS is what I want them to do more *make creepy mannequin vids;-)* I went from thinking it's creepy and disturbing to LOVING it:-D

After re-watching it I have to say I really like it, it's more artsy and the mannequin makes me feel sad for him, poor lil lonely guy. I was in such a rush yesterday that I put it immediately up on YT, before we don't have acces to it anymore. ;D But I set it today to unlisted, until we know what the guy who made this thinks about it. I couldn't think clear yesterday, was waaaay too excited.

What a great find, idlewild! Thanks for looking, finding and sharing! The first time I watched the vid, I didn't really like it all that much. Very gloomy and dark. I felt like there wasn't too much going on. But the video gets better and better after each viewing. The second time around you notice a few things more. The little subtleties that are incorporated in the video. Each time you discover something new. So I had to revise my evaluation based on my first glance. There's actually lots of things that are going on that I missed the first time. As for interpretation, I also thought that it looked like we were wandering around in someone's brain (a storage place of all the things from the past). And I like the idea of the mannequins being expectations of how other people would like him to be. But then in the end, he chooses to be a girl? Or could it be that the singer is wondering in the other person's mind and is trying to stand out. Looking for the type of person that would stand out and finds the girl in the red dress. And then he chooses to be her? Aargh, I just don't know. Maybe I should stop trying to make sense of this How do you guys interpret the song? I don't even know whether the song is positive (as in: I'm totally in love and I'll do anything to be with you) or negative (as in: I'm losing my own identity being in this relationship). I suppose it could go both ways. This is one of those lovely songs that I could think about for hours. Mainly because I'm clueless... Another thing: are the guys supposed to look a bit "plastified"? I get the feeling that Rick and Jason are a little mannequiny, but Bryce somehow just looks really alive in all the shots

going to watch the video here in a few minutes. I haven't been on the boards in awhile either, most of you are my friends on FB and I get the LH updates there. But yes, I was just thinking about how they opened with MMO. I was listening to that CD last week, which I haven't done in awhile. It happened to be in the CD player in my truck. It was quite nice to listen to that stuff again. I'll let you know what I think of the vid shortly.
