I couldn't hear the vocalist very well cause of the speaking right through all of it, but I thought I heard Lifehouse in the latest Dexter episode. And if so, it's a song that I hadn't heard before. The lyrics I could sorta make out were as following:
"You think it's no use and dreaming's only for fools. Don't you ever wonder why I'm always always on the line .... something too ... wonder why I'm always on the line ... try .... Why do I try?
It starts at 13:52ish and goes on for about a minute.. maybe someone else can listen with fresh ears.. i do think it sounds like Jason though

I listen to it now 3 times and I still don't think it's them, even tho the voice does sound a bit like Jason. I also tried to look up if I find a songlist for that episode, but nada  |

t.co/69M7iZc8 and go to 13:52 or something, i think it starts there. It sounds a bit rootsy/country-ish in the melody, but the vocals kinda sound like Jason. I can't find any records of it on the internet, so I'm pretty sure it's either a new song by a known artist or a song by a very unknown artist, but considering it's Dexter, they usually use songs by artists that already have a name in the market. I think it was Minka who suggested it could be Jason but probably not Lifehouse and the more I hear it, the more I'm leaning towards that theory. Cause the vocals make me think of Lifehouse (though I admit I can't hear it well enough to be sure) but the music throws me off again. Harmony-wise though it could be something Jasonwould do.. Maybe something specifically written for the show or some kind of song that won't make the album cut, or who knows. Or maybe I'm paranoid and Lifehouse and Jason have nothing to do with it at all

Thanks for the link! Did anyone else notice the last words spoken before the song starts playing are "crash and burn" haha... is that a signal right there? lol It certainly sounds like Jason to me! Although his voice is a little different. Looks like he might be trying out some country genre stuff. I thought he said in an interview that he was listening to more country music. I'm not sure how you could tell if it's Lifehouse or not. It's not their typical sound. I doubt that would be released on a Lifehouse album unless they plan to define themselves as country music artists. Hmmm.... well, I like the song.  From what I heard... makes me want to hear the rest. Here's my guess at the lyrics.... I think Koen pretty much got most of em. I have a feeling this is going to be another "Song for Pete" type mystery. lol "You think it's no use and dreaming's only for fools. it does realy sound like Jason, I agree..indeed this could be a song he wrote for commercial purpose, or the song was there, and he was invited to sing it..or whatever
yeah, this will prolly stay a mystery for at least a while:p
