Watching Brett Dennen perform was probably the weirdest experience I've ever had at a show. The way he was moving around and gesturing onstage, and how he had the guitar way up on his stomach...it was just weird. I saw him open for Matt Nathanson (along with another band) in Chicago.

Linh, sorry about yesterday - right when we got to the Collective Soul climax lol - let's just say MSN's being a pwoper bitch. It's okay. Mine, too. Apparently, a lot of people have received errors while trying to message me. More reason to go back to AIM! Apparently, a few of my friends felt the tremors from that, too. I must have been sleeping or something, cos I missed that entirely. All my LH CDs are backed up on my iPod and multiple web servers. I'm safe. Congratulations! I'm sure you will do wonderfully. ---- I finally found apartments in all three of the areas I may be living in next year, of reasonable price, no share houses (because I can barely stand living with myself, let alone strangers), that allow pets. One hurdle down. I did find out that I missed the fine print, and missed the deadline for posting in an application form for one particular university. But eh, I've still got my backups. And hope. :\ A lot of hope.

I just moved into an apartment today in Brookline, which is just outside of Boston. It's so expensive here, so I'm living with a friend who I've known for a long time. Hopefully this will be good... and I will find some steady work!

I actually wanted an internship at a company in Brookline! I emailed them but they never replied. Kind of annoyed about that. I'm going back and forth about emailing again. I don't know if they actually got the email and just ignored it, or they just didn't get it.

Oh really Breann? Where is it at? Maybe you could try following up, but I know sometimes people only contact you if they are interested... when I was looking for jobs in Holland, most people would reply even if they didn't want you, which I thought was nice.
What's the humbug about Koen?

Yeah! I thought it would be really cool because I really love New England. Or so I found out when I visited last year, lol. Plus my uncle and aunt only live about an hour from Brookline, so that would be awesome.
The email I sent was only asking what the requirements for the internship were, since they weren't listed online. They had other jobs listed, all of which had requirements listed except that one. I didn't send my resume or anything, just asked a question. Guess they didn't like that, lol.

Breann, I think you should email them again. If they don't respond, they probably (1) forgot, or (2) aren't interested. If you email them again and they still don't respond, then they're probably not interested. But there's always the chance that they just forgot but you wouldn't know that if you don't email them again . From my own experience at work, I've had people email me with resumes and I just forgot to email them back because I get a million emails a day. In fact.. it was your post that reminded me that I had a resume sitting in my inbox that I should probably respond to!

What's the humbug about Koen? The government is looking into simplifying the rules for migrant workers to work in the Netherlands. At first for short term and a focus on the EU but pretty soon also for outside the EU and for a more diverse type of jobs. IT and R&D are a few of the main focus areas. They're trying to create a better environment for research and technology with the idea of bringing more and more input into the economy. I suspect conspiracies.. in short: humbug

Koen, that's bad because it's more competition for you to get a job? Breann, I agree with Laura. Wouldn't hurt to try again, and maybe you could attach your resume too. Laura, now that I'm living in the city, maybe we can hang out sometime!
