Life and death. Sigh. So sorry to hear about your friend Sofi, chin up k? I had a friend who fell into a coma earlier this year and as much as I want him to wake up, I don't think he's ever going to wake up from it. I know it's a pretty awful thing to say but I don't want to get my hopes up...not again. Not sure for how long his parents can stand to see him in a comatose state. In slightly happier news though, my sister is engaged and the wedding's gonna be on an island!

Thanks, idlewild.. And so sorry to know about your friend.. Sometimes life is so unfair, right? Don't loose the hope... But don't stay stuck to the idea that everything will be okay... Unfortunately we never know.. Be strong! About you sister, wedding on an island? Wow, so cool! Congratulations to your sister!

:-( yeah it seems like a weird and cruel comment, but sometimes death is better than coma..that depends of course on how much change he/ she has of ever becoming somewhat of the person he/she was before the coma( like physically, but especially mentally.
I would really not know how to jugggle between having hope and not knowing:-( BIG HUG!
oh an island wedding how exotic:-D

In the last few years there were reports saying that people in coma can hear what's going on around them, but they are trapped in their body and cannot communicate. This is so scary... I think if that's the case, they need even more care and attention, and human contact. In my country there's a special clinic called "the light" for the people in coma where they have special treatment, in other hospitals these people often don't get enough attention since the doctors don't give their families much hope and are busy with other patients. I also met a girl who was in coma for a few years, she was doing quite well after that.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend Liz! I can imagine it's not easy for the people who love your friend, but I also believe people in coma can hear you. It's good to show them that people are there and still care for them. Big hug Liz!

that's really good that there is a special clinic for that Julia..I mean if there is a chance that people will wake up, that clinic may raise that chance:-D at least people are taken seriously there!
like I said before, I do think that (most) people in a coma can feel/hear..and showing that they are not alone is definitely a good thing!

My life must have been so sad before I discovered "The Big Bang theory"... I'm watching season 3 now and still laughing at each episode, it just doesn't get boring. I have a thing for nerds
