Wow I missed the whole thing, I went out of town and boom there it is !!! Congratulations dear!!! You & Stephen made a cute Lil red Lifehouse fan , good job ;D And how is it so far - being a parent? Is Maddie May a noisy girl? Do you get some sleep? |

We actually have a postwoman here, so that wouldn't be possible ;D Red hair runs on my husband's side of the family and apparently I carry the recessive gene for it because she couldn't have red hair if I didn't carry the recessive gene for it! There's no red hair on my side of the family, unless it's from my dad, who I've never met and know nothing about. I couldn't believe she turned out to be a redhead, I'd have never in a million years have guessed that! And how is it so far - being a parent? Is Maddie May a noisy girl? Do you get some sleep? Well, it's exhausting and thrilling at the same time. It's a little scary at first because this tiny little thing depends on you for everything but I've settled into a groove that works for me to take care of her. She's not too noisy, except at night when I want to sleep  She sleeps deeply all day long but I can't sleep when she sleeps because I have too much to do! I get about 3-4 hours of sleep every morning and then I take a 1.5-2 hour nap in the evening. I have no clue what I'm going to do when my husband goes back to work. I guess I won't sleep anymore?? |

^He'll be here until next Monday, which is his first day back to work. Everyone says she'll start sleeping better the older she gets, but I'm guessing she probably won't be sleeping without fussing by that point. It would be easier if someone would come over to help me out....like my mother...who only lives about 30 minutes away, but she doesn't offer to help at all. And I'm not asking because I know she'll get put off by it. Ugh.

Sleep when she does, as much as you can. It sounds silly and cliche, but if she sleeps for three hours at 2pm, you do too, and eventually it'll even itself out. Congrats again, 8 whole days!!!

Congrats! I love the name too. If our baby is a girl (we find out tomorrow), we're going to name it Madeline. Great minds think alike.
