yah I agree, I think the Joke would be a better radio single, Broken just doesnt seem like the radio type of song...but from what im hearing, Bryce and Jason have said that Broken is the next single...soooo we'll see My problem with the Joke (and I'm sure I'm starting to sound like a broken record) is that it's very dark lyrically. I can see people listening to it and not understanding what it's about, and then I can see people listening to it and understanding and being turned off. I would be VERY suprised if it was released as a single, and I would be even more suprised if it did well. It's a very good song, it's just too much for the general public. That's exactly what I was gonna say; gosh Katie, you're totally on it lately...wtf?

just in terms of catchiness First Time, Who We Are, & Make Me Over are probably the best choices for singles. But Whatever It Takes has a very, almost anthemic sound, though still leaning more in the ballad range. And the lyrics of it are perfect for a single. And it fits in with successful mainstream rock singles of the past few years. I just think that it has a very good chance to get picked up because of that.

I just decided to point this out for all of you! I would like this to be the next single followed by WWA, bc I just don't want Broken to be left the same way TMA, SSC and Blind were. Those are really personal and great songs to just be ignored that way. Is LH really releasing a song for Bratz?

I don't think they're releasing it as a single or anything but yea, "If This is Goodbye" is on the album.

(i can't stand that song, btw ) so i do think "the joke" could go either way...cause its catchy. but i wouldn't pick it as a single. "broken" is a really deep song, and that makes me nervous to put it as a single, since other songs that are deep haven't done well for lifehouse, but every now and then, (not a lot), people surprise me. so who knows. but i'm pretty sure it will be the next single since jason has said so many times. but who knows.

I think we'd be better at promoting them than some people/companies currently are now! As to what single should be next, I have to say at this point, that I hope whatever is picked just turns out to get some good feedback because their second singles always seem to go bust for some reason and I hate that! So, I am not opposed to many songs (though I don't think The Joke would be a good single though I like the song) being the next single, I just hope the best for it.

I agree with you. The listener needs to “feel” Lifehouse songs. And the general public doesn’t pay attention to the lyrics. They don’t stop for a while and think about the song’s message. That’s why Broken isn’t a good choice. It’s beautiful but you have to listen it several times to catch the core of it. When you reach there…man…great single to see the listeners crying. But whatever it takes is different. It sounds very good to be a great single. Who we are has lots of perfect songs to be singles. The last word is up to the band. And I trust them.
