Yesterday I saw a Facebook live interview of the band in South Africa because of the tour with Collective Soul and Jason said that they are making a new record and are so excited about it. Some good news 😂😂
What do you guys expect to come in this new record? More of the same? New sounds? Let's talk about it a little 😅

I think they found a pretty good sound with Wasteland. I don’t anticipate them deviating from that much in the future. There might be an experimental song on each album, but the days of albums like smoke and mirrors and Almeria are likely behind them. If Jason wants to experiment, he’s established himself as a solo act and can do that.

That's true... I really would like to see songs like the Highways And Low Days EP. I think that is so much like Lifehouse should sound like on their new record

Oh I don’t know about that. I think that EP was really inconsistent. Not a very focused effort. It’s got a couple of really good songs but also what I consider Jason’s worst song in his career.

Late 2018-this time next year is the best guess. I don’t see the band in a mode of rushing albums anymore, so I think it’s safe to expect longer stretches between albums.

Hopefully, it comes out this year, its been a disappointing year in terms of the greatest hits album (same songs we all know and love but nothing new) and the fact that Komox still hasn't released Geminidentity

Looks like the guys are recording in Nashville! Bryce and Ricky posted some photos. I am really curious how it will sound like this time. I expect something close to 'Out of the Wasteland"...

I think the years of different sounds are in the past. Wasteland is likely their groove for the years ahead.

Agreed... I feel like Who We Are is who they feel they are and Wasteland basically continued that by and large (with some modern twists like Runaways and Hourglass). I could see Jason doing more experimental stuff judging by Winzlo... he has said he doesn’t want to make the same album again, and that he finds you can judge a band by its lineage rather than just certain points. Hoping for an album in 2019 and I’m confident they know when they’re at the top of their game and when they’ve maybe been going through the motions (looking at you, pop half of S&M).

Also I think J sold his recording studio mansion in Agora Hills so maybe they’re working on a new studio or going elsewhere for inspiration... they’ve been making records at his place for the last decade and I’m sure it’s hard to keep being fresh in the same physical room!

I can confirm - days of Agoura Hills Studio are over. I'm very curious how the new surrounding (Nashville) will influence the sound on this upcoming album.

I hope that it will be a concept record and not half pop, half experimental.
