I don't know, apres. The cheese factor for a line saying that someone is "my universe" is through the roof. I like the verse though.

Out of all songs Jason published so far on his page, "Pulse" won my heart right at the first chords. It has this early 2000's vibe in it and Jason's vocal... reminds me a bit of Foo Fighters ballads from that time. Playing on repeat now  |

So My Universe is the first big swing and a miss of all the solo material. Like, bad. I miiiiight have cringed at a couple of lines and the choruses. Honestly, I hear the song and I hear him trying too hard and forcing things that aren't there. I'd really like to know the film this was intended for to gain some background, but it's easy to tell that there was a certain idea in his head, tried to force it, but it doesn't work on any level. Musically, I like it quite a bit. But lyrically and vocal melody wise, no thanks.
Before I get jumped on, let me say that Jason's worst song still beats my very best song.

I loved My Universe. I did not translate it yet, but musically it's amazing.. I really would like this Highways And Low Days as a Lifehouse's project.. The songs are so for the band. Paper Cuts was just Jason, but this sound like Lifehouse since the first song.

Pulse is amazing. I don't see this growing on me. Hell,from the second chorus on, the choruses sound like some nu metal singer with heavy reverb and autotune. Sorry J...this one is a miss. |

My first thought listening to the preview for 'Survive' is: Out of the Wasteland b-side. I like this one better than My Universe for sure.
